Tears, Lies, And Alibis is Lynne's first record on her own newly founded label, Everso Records, which is distributed through Fontana, the award-winning independent distribution division of Universal Music Group.

Newsday hailed it as "her strongest album in a decade," a sentiment echoed by critics across the country. USA Today praised its "lean, rootsy originals that showcase her easy wit and emotional intelligence" while People Magazine gave the record 3 ½ stars, observing: "Keeping it raw, the heartache goes down deep on songs like the soulful standout 'Alibi.'"

"It's another strong album of stripped-down songs, steeped in classic Southern styles, brief but soul-deep in emotion," said The Philadelphia Inquirer. "And she's even better live..." Lynne kicked off her 2010 tour with a release-week show at Los Angeles' Roxy Theatre, which won the praise of Spin.com: "Fronting a six-piece band, the 2001 Grammy winner played her new album front to back -- and so deftly it felt more like a conversation than a performance."

In addition to performing songs from Tears, Lies, And Alibis, Lynne will be playing old favorites and previously unreleased songs on tour. "Lynne's [Minneapolis] Dakota gig will be on my list for best concerts of 2010," said the Minneapolis Star Tribune while The Washington Post's pop music blog observed: "she was, quite simply, captivating."

Born in Quantico, VA, Lynne grew up in Jackson, AL and headed to Nashville at an early age. At 18, her demos landed her an appearance on TNN s Nashville Now series, which led to a Top 50 duet ("If I Could Bottle This Up") with George Jones and a record deal. On the strength of 2000's I Am Shelby Lynne, she won the Grammy for Best New Artist. Love, Shelby was released in 2001, followed by a pair of intimate, self-produced albums - Identity Crisis (2003) and Suit Yourself (2005) - that set the stage for Tears, Lies, And Alibis.

She made her acting debut in 2005, playing Johnny Cash's mother in the Fox Searchlight motion picture Walk the Line. Just a Little Lovin', Lynne's critically acclaimed tribute to Dusty Springfield, was released in 2008.
