The Runaways competition: Muzu, Kerrang! Radio search for best unsigned female artists

Muzu and Kerrang! Radio launch search for best unsigned female artists

The Runaways

Joan Jett once sang, 'I LOVE ROCK AND ROLL!' Don't we all, Joan? With such proclamations, it's probably fair to say that Joan and loads of other rock and roll fans will be queuing at the cinemas in the UK come September 10, 2010 to see The Runaways.

The film is about the famous all-girl rock band of the same name starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.

To coincide with the launch of The Runaways movie, online music video site Muzu have partnered with Kerrang! Radio to launch a search for best unsigned female artists around. Once they've found them, they'll then set about making them into bona fide, massive, rock goddesses.

The best unsigned female band, solo artist or front woman will win the chance to record a session at Muzu's Dublin studio, which will be simulcast online at Muzu and KerrangRadio.co.uk and played on Kerrang! Radio's digital radio station. The winner or winners will also get the chance to perform live at a Kerrang! event.

Entering is simple, provided you're a female and/or a musician/singer. Performers can upload a recording of themselves at www.muzu.tv/therunaways. Ten entries will be shortlisted with the final winner selected by a panel of judges, including Kerrang! Radio DJ Alex Baker.

The competition is open until 30th August, 2010.
