Skindred Win Best Live act at Golden Awards
Following the recent release of their much acclaimed new album 'Union Black', and one of the performances of the weekend at this weekend's Download Festival, Skindred have Won the "Best Live Act" Award at this year's Golden God Awards at the O2 last night.
Skindred, famed for their outstanding live sets, capped off what has been a dream weekend for the band picking up their second award of the last 5 days after also scooping the "Devotion award" at the Kerrang! awards.
Skindred Guitarist Mikey Demus said, "it's brilliant to of received this award in what has been an amazing year for the band. Thank You. We would like to thank all those who have supported us and voted for us as without the support of our fans we would not be here."
Skindred Frontman and singer Benji Webbe added, "we'd like to also take this opportunity to say keep supporting live music and going to see local bands."
The band will release their second single titled "Cut Dem" from their new album 'Union Black' on August 8, 2011 (7pm/BMG Rights) featuring remixes by Dub Step pioneer Zed Bias and Tek-One both of which have already been garnering strong support at 1 Xtra.
