The Front Bottoms - Flashlight video + tour dates

The Front Bottoms

Riding on the crest of critical acclaim, New Jersey indiepop duo The Front Bottoms is gearing up for a string regional dates that kicks off this weekend at NYC's Highline Ballroom on October 22nd as part of CMJ New Music Festival, supporting Kevin Devine and An Horse.

Circling out to the Midwest and boomeranging back to their home state of New Jersey, they will be playing the FREE pre-party for The Flaming Lips on October 27th in Norfolk, VA before wrapping up the tour supporting River City Extension's Annual Thanksgiving Show at Asbury Park's Stone Pony on November 23rd.

Their new video for "Flashlight" from their self-titled Bar/None Records debut premiered exclusively this week at AOL's SPINNER. Watch now here on BandWeblogs.com!

The Front Bottoms have been garnering plenty of media attention, focusing not only on their uniquely poignant and surrealistically mundane lyrics but also on their melodically complex acoustic indiepop.

All Music Guide lauded, "The Front Bottoms is an out-of-left-field candidate for the best debut album of 2011."

The Aquarian Weekly voted the album "Disc of the Week," comparing them to "an indie pop sound similar to that of Piebald with the vocal styling of Say Anything." DRUM Magazine called it "a promising debut boasting the inspired goofiness of a latter-day Jonathan Richman." Among other early believers include Alternative Press, Beyond Race Magazine, The Star-Ledger, Sputnik Music, and Jersey Beat.

Their singles "Maps" and "The Beers" have been picking up steam on specialty radio with over 30 adds in just six weeks, including spins from KROQ in Los Angeles, WRFF Radio 104.5 in Philadelphia, Chicago's WXRT, and the band's first ever commercial in-studio performance at WROX in Norfolk. They also debuted on FMQB SubModern albums and singles chart.

Emerging from Northern Jersey suburbia better known for its malls than its music, singer/guitarist Brian Sella and drummer/bullhornist Mathew Uychich's meteoric rise sparked from Bergen County's DIY concert circuit that has included everything from punk flop houses, VFW halls, and fire stations.

Fueled by strong performances at Bamboozle and shows opening for Vanessa Carlton, He Is We, Bayside's Anthony Raneri, and Jersey cohorts Titus Andronicus to mention a few, the band continues to build its fanbase while remaining true to their humble Jersey roots (Matt and Brian still have their jobs doing landscaping and working at a grocery store respectively).

Their self-titled debut was released on September 6th via Bar/None Records. You can catch them on tour this Fall at one of the below dates.

The Front Bottoms is Brian Sella (vocals/guitars) and Matt Uychich (drums).
