British artist, Sickboy announces his first print release of 2012

Acclaimed British graffiti artist, Sickboy has announced the release of his first limited edition print of 2012, entitled King of Undesire.

Followers of Sickboy may be familiar with the title of the release; King of Undesire is a print reproduction of one of the artist's most accomplished paintings to date, which featured at his hugely successful 2011 major solo show, Heaven & Earth.

Produced in a highly-collectable run of 50, the print is as beautifully-detailed as its original counterpart and contains deeply personal narratives alongside the artist's surrealist depictions of the world.

Fans of Sickboy's prolific graffiti such as the iconic 'Temple' (sprayed in the McDonalds palette on walls and wheelie bins worldwide) will witness a deeper development of the artist's style with King of Undesire, which is inspired by semiotics, symbolism and Renaissance paintings.

The stunning Giclee, 2-colour silkscreen print stands at an impressive 75 x 97 cm. Using oil-based archival inks alongside lovingly-applied details in 23kt gold leaf, the print's luxurious finish on Cold Press Rough Textured Natural White 315gsm paper picks out the composition's striking details using an enamel spot varnish which gives the print texture and dynamism.

Sickboy says: "King of Undesire has some reference points in Cubism, Pop Surrealism and Renaissance art, brought together in glorious spray-colours to exercise some visual advancements in ambiguous humour."

King of Undesire will be released officially on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 12:00GMT at savethyouth.co.uk priced at £150.

*You can pre-order this print and secure an edition from Tuesday, Feb 7, 2012 21:00GMT by subscribing at thesickboy.com to receive a secret 'pre-sales' link.'

A leading artist to emerge from Bristol's infamous graffiti scene, Sickboy's humorous work has cemented his place in the upper echelons of the British street art movement.

He is one of the first UK artists to use a logo in place of a tag, and his red and yellow street logo known as 'The Temple' can be seen on walls and wheelie bins worldwide. Sickboy has built up one of the largest bodies of street art works in UK history and he is tipped by the leading financial press as one of the movement's most investable artists. His temples, slogans and audacious stunts - including the caged heart installation dropped outside the Tate Modern in 2008 - have landed him global recognition.

His work has featured in countless graffiti books and documentary films including Banksy's Oscar-nominated Exit Through the Gift Shop, and in global and national TV, newspapers and magazines including BBC London News, The Financial Times, The Independent, i-D, and many more.
