Indie-rock band, A Bad Think, has officially released a new music video to debut the upcoming single "Under The Stairs."
This is the first single off of their fourth studio album, Medicine, which dropped this week.
The cinematic video features critically acclaimed actress Mariel Hemingway, who plays the lead role in the video as the wife of Michael Marquart, lead singer, songwriter and musician behind A Bad Think.
The granddaughter of writer Ernest Hemingway, Mariel became famous in her own right when she made her silver screen debut at the age of 13 in Lipstick. Four years later, her work in Woody Allen's Manhattan earned her an Oscar nomination. She has since made 30 films as well as numerous television appearances in series and as a host of environmental and humanitarian documentaries.
When speaking about the "Under The Stairs" music video Hemmingway stated, "Michael's music is thought provoking and timeless... it was fun to work someone so gifted!"
A Bad Think - Under The Stairs video:
A Bad Think is a project driven by the one-man wonder and many talents of Michael Marquart. Marquart has been making his living as a musician and producer all his life.
The talented drummer, guitarist, keyboard player, singer and producer has played with A Flock of Seagulls and the Canadian super-group Alias, but it's the music he makes with his solo project, A Bad Think, that's closest to his heart.
A music theory major in college he has finally found a home creating works of art in his private recording studio. Marquart is a survivor, and his humility and positive acceptance of life as it is, is precisely what is most endearing in these tracks - his music is pensive, his lyrics meant to be carefully considered.
Michael Marquart's daughter Samantha Marq, the multi-talented singer/songwriter, has supported A Bad Think's musical styling's over the years. Her beautifully lush voice can be heard on a majority of A Bad Think's tracks.
To date A Bad Think has released three studio albums Own My Own (2008), Simply Rhymes (2009), and Sara Lee (2010). On My Own was nominated for the 2010 eWorld Music Awards formerly known as the Hollywood Music Awards. Sara Lee, A Bad Think's third outing, is an expansive musical tapestry. The album's chiming guitars, rich, brooding bass lines, ghostly flutes and inventive percussion occupy a vast sonic and emotional space that pulls listeners into the unstable emotional world Marquart explores with these songs.
