GLORIA ESTEFAN PERFORMS THE STANDARDS AND THE HITS THURSDAY OCTOBER 17TH, 2013 ROYAL ALBERT HALL

Gloria Estefan, who has sold over 100 million albums worldwide - announces a very special night of fabulous entertainment at The Royal Albert Hall on October 17th, 2013. Tickets go on sale Friday July 5, 2013 at 9.00am.

For one night only, she will be performing for the first time in the UK, songs from her forthcoming album 'The Standards' out October 21st on Sony Music.

"It's always been a dream of mine to perform at the Royal Albert Hall because of its incredible history and elegance. To be able to perform songs from my new album, The Standards and my hits with a new twist, takes my excitement for this concert to an entirely new level." Says Gloria.

You'll also be treated to Gloria's history of iconic hits, in a style and sound like you've never heard them before: Dr.Beat, Rhythm Is Gonna Get You, and Conga - to name a few... These songs have already made an indelible impression on generations of British music fans and millions across the globe.

Gloria recently fronted a BBC Radio 2 seven-part series tracing the history of Latin Music from its roots to the present day. The series was Gloria's personal take on the current Latin scene and a look at how the music has been shaped by influences from around the world.

Gloria Estefan is the most successful crossover artist in the history of pop music. In 1984 the number one hit "Dr.Beat" began a 22 year run of non-stop hits for Gloria and was sampled by Mylo on the dance smash hit "Doctor Pressure" which hit the Top 3 in September 2005.

Gloria paved the way commercially for a new generation of Latin Music stars including; Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez. She penned the Jennifer Lopez global dance smash "Let's Get Loud" and co-wrote Shakira's world-wide hit "Whenever Wherever".

Gloria Estefan's illustrious career has included recording the official theme for the 1996 Summer Olympics and has won seven Grammy awards. Gloria also played opposite Meryl Streep in 'Music Of The Heart', and the music title song received an Academy Award nomination which Gloria recorded with N'Sync. Gloria also has under her belt, two New York Times Best Seller children's books.
