Live On Letterman Webcast Concert Will Be Streamed This Evening

Tim McGraw will launch his upcoming album, Southern Voice, with a series of national television appearances.

Tonight (October 12th) he will perform on Late Show with David Letterman and play an exclusive “Live on Letterman” webcast concert from the Ed Sullivan Theater.

The concert will be streamed on the “Late Show” website (www.cbs.com/late_night/late_show) tonight at approximately 8:00 PM, ET/5:00 PM, PT, and will also be simulcast live on 11 CBS RADIO country music stations across the country.

This Friday, October 16th, McGraw will return to the “Late Show” for a performance and an interview with Letterman.

Later this month, Tim McGraw will perform on TODAY (October 23) as part of the Toyota Concert Series on Rockefeller Plaza, The Jay Leno Show (October 27), where he’ll be joined by special guest Gregg Allman, and Ellen (October 29).

Southern Voice, Tim McGraw’s first studio album in two and a half years, will be released on October 20, 2009 by Curb Records and he will play a very special show that evening at the intimate Joe’s Bar in Chicago with special guest Chris Young.

Proceeds from the concert, which is sold out, will go to The Neighbor’s Keeper Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a charitable fund created by Tim and his wife, Faith Hill.

Recorded with his longtime producer, Byron Gallimore (Faith Hill, Sugarland), Southern Voice’s 12 songs represent a new level of depth and intensity for McGraw; they tell unforgettable stories of lives lived and lessons learned, and reveal a man staring down what it means to be a father, a husband.

McGraw, who was recently featured on the cover of Billboard, gave the title track, which is also his current single, its national television debut last month on the NBC/NFL Network simulcast of “NFL OPENING KICKOFF 2009 PRESENTED BY EA SPORTS.”

Plans are currently being finalized for a major Tim McGraw tour, which will kick off in February 2010. Details will be announced shortly.

Lily Allen’s new album, ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’, will be in stores tomorrow (Feb 10, 2009) and she’ll celebrate the occasion with a performance on NBC’s “TODAY” show in the morning and a MySpace Secret Show at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom that evening.

With free Secret Shows also scheduled in Tokyo and London, the concerts mark the first time a single artist will take part in multiple MySpace Secret Shows on a global level.

Allen will perform on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on February 16th and on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on February 18th.

She’ll return home thereafter for a series of U.K. dates, but kick off a North American headlining tour on April 1st in San Diego, CA.

Lead single “The Fear,” which debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart, recently topped Rolling Stone’s “Hot List.”

“The singer packs another lyrical punch as she touches upon the charade of fame, delusions of consumerism and media obsession with her celebrity,” said Billboard in a review of the track. The accompanying video, which was directed by Nez (The Streets, Kano) and generated 500,000 clicks in five days when it premiered on MySpace, has been added at MTV, MTV Hits, mtvU, The N, Music Choice and LOGO.

More than two decades after the music video explosion of the early 1980s, triple Grammy nominees Hoobastank are taking the medium to the next level with their groundbreaking “My Turn” video.

Helmed by Grammy nominated director P.R. Brown (Goo Goo Dolls, Matisyahu, Slipknot) and programmed by Daniel Kim from Deep Fried Productions (Gwen Stefani, Nine Inch Nails, M.I.A.), the innovative “My Turn” music video is interactive, allowing viewers to control the on-screen action.

Designed to be viewed online the eye-popping video has the look and feel of a video game, complete with different characters and varying scenarios.

Wearing different costumes and swapping instruments, each member of Hoobastank (lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Doug Robb, guitarist Dan Estrin and drummer Chris Hesse) performed and was shot individually against a green screen. Together with a gaggle of guests (bikini models, senior citizens, Robb’s mother and father-in-law, among others), the band created a video that’s truly unique – one that offers fans a new experience with each viewing. “This is a new direction for music videos,” says director P.R. Brown. “I think we’re witnessing only the beginning of what will surely be a new form of technology that brings fans closer to the music.”

A made-for-television version of the video premiered January 9th on AOL’s Music Page and quickly went into rotation on MTV2, MTVu and MTV Hits.

“You’ll have the option to create any version of it that you want,” says Robb. “You can have Chris sing while I play guitar in drag with an old lady on drums. And you can keep switching it up as the video goes along. Create an all Dan band. An all dog band. Whatever you want. The options are endless. It’s very cool and I think that the fans are gonna have fun with it.”

“My Turn” appears on Hoobastank’s highly anticipated new album ‘For(N)ever’ (Island Records), which arrives in stores on January 27, 2009.

The band will celebrate the album’s release with a January 27th performance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” On Monday, January 26th, the band will host KROQ’s “Loveline” with Dr. Drew and Stryker during a two-hour segment featuring and talking about the new album.

Produced by longtime collaborator Howard Benson, Fornever sees a rejuvenated Hoobastank returning to the amped rock roots of their first two releases-2001’s platinum-plus-selling self-titled debut and 2003’s double platinum-plus-selling follow-up, ‘The Reason’.

VH1 has named singer-songwriter Lenka as its latest “You Oughta Know” artist, with a campaign kicking off in early October.

Her self-titled debut album became available on iTunes last week and in just a few short days had jumped into the iTunes’ Top 10 Albums chart.

The album will be featured on vh1.com’s “The Leak” beginning today and AOL will host a listening party for it next week. Lenka will play a special show at New York’s Mercury Lounge September 23rd, 2008 coinciding with the album’s wide release, and she’ll make her U.S. network television debut the following night on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.”

She’s also confirmed to perform on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (October 16th) and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (October 22nd).

Lenka, former vocalist for the acclaimed Australian electronic/ambient band Decoder Ring, continues her residency at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, performing each Thursday in September 2008. On September 27th she’ll be the primary support for Juliana Hatfield’s show at L.A.’s Café Largo and she’ll join the Hotel Cafe Tour on November 11th. In between, she’ll play a couple of shows in her native Australia (see below for full itinerary).

“The Show,” the lead track from Lenka’s album, is climbing the charts at radio and 476,700 copies of the song were downloaded last week when it was featured as iTunes’ “Single of the Week.”

As noted by People’s recent “As Heard On TV” column, it’s been featured in Old Navy’s back-to-school television advertising campaign and in promotional spots for the hit ABC comedy “Ugly Betty”. It’s also been tapped for the Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon Movies’ film Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging.

Two other Lenka songs have garnered early attention as well: “Don’t Let Me Fall” was heard in the season premiere of the The CW’s new series “90210″ and Lenka’s haunting cover of Modest Mouse’s “Gravity Rides Everything” was recently featured as Entertainment Weekly’s “Download This” pick and by Vanity Fair’s “Hot Tracks” (along with “The Show”). The songs are available now on iTunes.

Lenka, who is a Clear Channel NEW! Artist for September (AAA format), has already appeared in the pages of Marie Claire and Teen Vogue and will be featured in upcoming issues of Blender and Spin as well as an episode of vh1.com’s “My Play List.”

Coldplay’s latest album, ‘Viva La Vida’, debuts at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with over 720,000 copies sold in its first week of release in the U.S. ‘Viva La Vida’ has topped the UK album chart for the second week in a row, where it is the fastest-selling album of the year, and No. 1 rankings continue to come in from around the globe including Japan, Australia, Canada, France and Germany.

Already the biggest album pre-order in iTunes history, ‘Viva La Vida’ also set the record for highest first-week album sales ever on the iTunes® Store worldwide. Today the album’s title song surpasses “Clocks” as the band’s biggest-selling single to date on the iTunes Store.

“Hollywood’s Not America,” the lead single from Capitol Music Group recording artist Ferras‘ premiere album, ‘Aliens and Rainbows’, made its on-air and online debut on The N, the network totally for and about teens, as part of a new exclusive promotional campaign to support the new album release.

The campaign, which began this week, will include “The N Presents Ferras,” a six-city high school tour and an exclusive video mash-up of Ferras’ latest single with never-before-seen clips from The N’s hit series, Degrassi: The Next Generation.

The N premiered the new video on air and online at The Click, The-N.com’s broadband media player Wednesday, April 16, 2008.

The multi-format radio hit, tipped as a USA Today “Pick of the Week” and an Entertainment Weekly “Download of the Day,” has sold nearly 100,000 copies since its release eight weeks ago.

The video for “Hollywood’s Not America,” directed by Paul Brown (Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab for Cutie, Evanescence), is one of only three videos in “Love” rotation at The N, the “VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown” and also MTV Hits, Music Choice and LOGO’s new music show, “New Now Next.”

People magazine pronounced Ferras “the new piano man,” drawing favorable comparisons to Elton John, Coldplay and Hall & Oates, in a recent review of ‘Aliens & Rainbows’, which was produced by The Matrix (Avril Lavigne, Jason Mraz, Korn) with Gary Clark (Natalie Imbruglia, Lloyd Cole).

Dwayne Kerr was hired to play as a band member for Grammy award-winning Erykah Badu in 1998. While touring with Erykah Badu, Dwayne has played in Africa, Italy, Japan, throughout Europe and Scandinavia, on the all-female artists Lilith Fair Tour and television appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, MTV’s Real World, The Oprah Show, Live! With Regis and BET Live.
