InMe have been developing their new album 'Herald Moth' ever since they impressed fans and critics (4K - Kerrang, 8/10 - Rock Sound) with the hunger shown on 2007's 'Daydream Anonymous'.
Having broken through in 2003 with fearless debut 'Overgrown Eden' as mere ebullient teenagers, people could have been forgiven for expecting the balloon to drop as quick as it set off. InMe, however, had other ideas - this wasn't a band congenital to a particular scene, borrowing ideas in order to haul in a brief flirtation with the fair-weather fan. These guys wrote for themselves, and 2005's follow up 'White Butterfly' may have been more subtle, but the songwriting was strong, maturity was evident and critics and fans kept the faith, with Kerrang repeating their 4K assessment and fans flocking to tours and festivals.
Fast-forward to 2009, and InMe have done what all artists should do: progress. 'Herald Moth' is unmistakably InMe, but simply better than ever before. Personal adversity has helped shape a record that combines Dave McPherson's undoubted songwriting talents with the bands' augmentation into a more technically proficient and powerful musical force. Those who have supported the band will love it; those who may have been indifferent will be pleasantly surprised.
'Herald Moth' is released through Graphite Records in June 2009.
