Daisy Dares You has today been announced as one of music's brightest hopes for the year ahead in the BBC's Sound of 2010 poll.
Voted for by 165 tastemakers, she joins the likes of Hurts, Delphic and fellow Essex youngster Devlin in the poll that was won last year by Little Boots.
Daisy Dares You is the nom-de-pop of Daisy Coburn, who hails from a sleepy village in Essex. Not surprisingly for someone born in 1993(!), Daisy's still at school doing her GCSEs, but in between her studies she's busy writing and producing her own music.
Expect an eclectic mix of brilliantly wilful pop songs, with the likes of Karen O and Courtney Love, some of the most iconic female figures in pop and alternative music, influencing Daisy's music and attitude.

Daisy Dares You was signed earlier this year by Jive Records aged just 15. Her debut single "Number One Enemy" will herald the arrival of a striking new force in British pop and was loved so much by Chipmunk that he's added his burst of energy into the song. "Number One Enemy" is set for release February 22, 2010.
Daisy's already been lauded by the likes of Elle ("she may be young but don't underestimate music's new star"), RWD ("Daisy, like her music, is wiser than her years") and the Guardian ("Daisy sounds like a young, brash Kirsty MacColl").
Daisy's debut album is due May 2010 and she's just starting giving audiences a sneak preview with a boisterous live show.
Ahead of a supporting tour with Chipmunk in February 2010, Daisy plays Proud Galleries this Friday December 11th and the New to Q show on Saturday 30th January at the Tabernacle in London.
