Mike Posner "Back to School" 2011 tour dates

Singer, songwriter and producer, Mike Posner announced today that he will be hitting the road this spring on the "Back to School" tour presented by Oakley, in support of his debut album 31 Minutes To Takeoff (J Records) and his current single "Bow Chicka Wow Wow" (feat. Lil' Wayne).

Kicking off on March 31st at Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY, Posner will be hitting up colleges and venues all across the country until mid-May with support from Kelley James.

Since the release of 31 Minutes To Takeoff in August of 2010, Posner has traveled all over the world promoting his album and his first two smash singles, the multi-platinum breakout hit "Cooler Than Me" and his top 10 follow up "Please Don't Go".

He was nominated for an American Music Award for Breakthrough Artist and has performed on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, America's Got Talent, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Lopez Tonight, Live! With Regis & Kelly and The Wendy Williams Show.

Critics have continued to praise Posner and the album, with Rolling Stone saying "Mike Posner is at the head of a new genre..." and praising it's "...big, club-friendly synth hooks". Entertainment Weekly called it "...sly, electro-pop..." and USA Today stated it is "...breezily infectious..."

Mike Posner spent the fall of 2010 on his first headlining club tour, The Up In The Air Tour, produced by Live Nation and sponsored by Karmaloop.com.

In March of 2009, Posner's first mixtape A Matter of Time (recorded in his dorm room) rose to the #1 position on iTunesU, promptly garnering him the attention of major labels.

After signing a deal with J Records that summer, Posner returned to Duke to finish up his course load, all the while beginning work on his debut album, self-releasing his second free mixtape One Foot Out The Door (featuring collaborations with 3Oh!3, Bun B, Kid Cudi, Wale) through iTunesU and rocking shows every weekend at colleges and festivals across the country. 22 year old Mike Posner hails from Southfield, MI and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from Duke University in May 2010 with a BA in Sociology and Business.
