The Static Jacks to release 7" single Into the Sun / Mercy, Hallelujah on November 28th
London's Laissez Faire Club records (Channel Ciaro, The Collectable Few) are set to release a limited edition 7" single "Into The Sun" / "Mercy, Hallelujah" on November 28, 2011 from New Jersey's The Static Jacks.
Serving as an introduction to the band for UK audiences, the tracks are taken from the bands forthcoming Fearless Records (At The Drive-In, Portugal The Man) album 'If You're Young'.
Having toured America with the likes of Biffy Clyro, We Were Promised Jetpacks and most recently Tapes 'n Tapes and Howler, The Static Jacks are set to make waves this side of the Atlantic with their unique blend of punk, garage rock and soul.
Produced by Chris Shaw (Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Weezer, Bad Brains), "Into the Sun" and "Mercy, Hallelujah" both showcase the band's frenetic energy and infectious hooks.
"Into the Sun" is an instantly engaging power-pop anthem with a hugely expansive chorus and an impressive introduction to the razor-edged vocals of lead singer Ian Devaney.
"Mercy, Hallelujah" continues the impassioned intensity and lyrical depth of the band, creating another irrepressible track.
Both songs take equal influence from both sides of the Atlantic, from New Jersey's punk and rock scene, to the elite of classic British artists; from the irreverence of Titus Andronicus and the Americana tinged sounds of The Gaslight Anthem, through to the fervour of The Clash to the lyrical sensitivity of The Smiths.

The Static Jacks have also lined up a series of live dates in London to support the release, including a date at the 100 Club on November 24th. The launch party for the single will take place on the 28th November at The Social.
Since forming in 2009, the band have forged a strong identity through their tireless work ethic and uncompromising sound. A winning blend of DIY ethos with an unashamed penchant for penning unforgettable melodies has seen The Static Jacks win over audiences throughout the US and the band are now preparing to replicate this in the UK.
"Into the Sun" / "Mercy, Hallelujah" is released on 7" vinyl on November 28th, through Laissez Faire Club.
The album 'If You're Young' is released in 2012 through Fearless Records.
