In their free time, the members of Lustra study American History relentlessly. One thing they couldn't help but notice: Britain keeps invading the United States. First the Revolutionary War. Then the War of 1812. Just forty-five years ago, the subversive musical "British Invasion."
A pattern has emerged - and Lustra wants revenge. Rather than wait for the next attack, the band has decided to take matters into their own hands with a preemptive strike: a counter-invasion beginning August 4, 2008 at the Metro in London.
Appropriately, Lustra originally hail from Boston, one of the first sites of colonial dissent (you know, that tea party where everyone went thirsty?), but now reside in sunny Los Angeles, where they have been stockpiling weaponry in a downtown basement for the upcoming surge.
Count among those WMDs the material from their upcoming sophomore album, 'What You Need & What You Get', featuring new single "It's a Shame About Boston," a homesick rocker that laments the metropolis' fabled curse no doubt cast upon it by vindictive foes across the Atlantic. And don't forget "Scotty Doesn't Know," the song that earned Lustra an appearance in the movie Eurotrip, tens of thousands of digital sales, almost 3 million MySpace views in a 24-hour period, as well as the distinction of being one of the first independent acts to have a 7-week stay on the Billboard Hot 100 and Pop 100.
Lustra - they're history buffs who want revenge. People of the United Kingdom, consider yourselves warned.
