This years American Idol winner, David Cook, actually came to the competition having an idol of his own.

That idol is Raine Maida, lead singer of Our Lady Peace and well know activist.

Following David's triumph on American Idol, Cook reached out to Raine for a meeting and instantly things clicked. "The songs that we wrote were, in my opinion, some of the strongest that we've done for this record," said David.

The writing session went so well that Raine and David are planing to write again very soon to generate a few new key tracks for Cook's upcoming album.

Raine Maida Press:

"Best described as a poetry slam backed by hip-hop beats and acoustic instruments, the set defies any hopes at categorization... Food for thought and a banquet for the ears, this set's atmospheres linger long after the final notes sound." -- Jo-Ann Greene, ALL MUSIC (7/24/08)
