The Many Sides of Dave Edmunds – The Greatest Hits + “Girls Talk” video

Dave Edmunds

Great British rocker Dave Edmunds returns on September 22nd, 2008 with a new album ‘The Many Sides of Dave Edmunds – The Greatest Hits and More’, released on Universal.

Including hits like “The Sabre Dance” and “I Hear You Knocking”, the album chronicles an illustrious career spanning four decades. Drawing on his solo work as well as material recorded with Love Sculpture and Rockpile, ‘The Many Sides of Dave Edmunds’ includes all Dave’s finest moments as well as previously unreleased tracks “Every Time I See Her” and “I Got The Will”.

One of Britain’s most-respected guitarists, songwriters and producers, Dave’s career has been filled with variation and contrast. 1968’s guitar freakout “The Sabre Dance” (with Love Sculpture) reinvented Khachaturian for the hippy generation, while vintage blues belter “I Hear You Knocking” spent six weeks at the top of the UK charts and even claimed the 1970 Christmas no. 1 spot. It was also a major hit in the U.S.

Having recently returned to the limelight at the Mojo Awards, where he presented a Mojo Legend gong to Grammy award winning blues singer Irma Thomas, this collection serves as a timely reminder of Dave’s talents.

Other highlights include UK no. 4 single “Girls Talk”, and rockabilly classic “I Knew The Bride”, both with Rockpile, and “Every Time I See Her” an upbeat, power pop anthem never before released in the UK.

Dave has a couple of live dates lined up for the coming months, performances that will see him reunited with such old friends as Joe Brown, Jools Holland and Mark Knopfler.
