Yelle - Dance Masquerade for fans + tour dates w/ Funeral Party, Passion Pit

Yelle

As her highly anticipated C'est L'Amerique Tour approaches it's October 7th, 2008 debut in Dallas, TX (full schedule below), French electro chanteuse Yelle has announced that each show will be a dance masquerade party and she wants fans to participate by creating their own polygon dog masks that can be downloaded from the band's MySpace page (www.myspace.com/iloveyelle).

In addition, the band will create a documentary about their American tour and want fans to appear in the film talking about their lives and their passion for music.

To win a chance to participate, fans must complete the documentary form available on the Yelle MySpace page. Yelle will choose winners from each tour stop, who'll receive free tickets to the show and a private meet n greet with the band, which includes album producer GrandMarnier on drums and vocals and collaborator/remixer Tepr on keyboards and programming.

Opening for Yelle is Funeral Party along with Passion Pit on select West Coast dates.

Crowned "the French M.I.A." by Teen Vogue, Yelle made a huge splash in the U.S. last spring with the April release of her debut album Pop-Up (Astralwerks), which charted in the Top 10 on Billboard's Top Electronic Album chart and also entered Billboard's Heatseekers chart. (The album was released digitally in late 2007 and charted among iTunes top-selling electronic albums).

XLR8R Magazine describes the album as "funny, naïve, and sometimes dirty, but also smart and backed by extremely catchy electronic beats."

American audiences were mesmerized by Yelle's exuberant three-man stage show and colorful, unique fashions during her brief Spring 08'. In response to her thrilling Coachella performance, Spin Magazine described Yelle as "a French electro version of the young Olivia Newton-John who stole Kylie Minogue's dance moves," and said that "Yelle loco-motioned the room into a frenzy." Fans are sure to be blown away once again as the French vixen has partnered with designer Jeremy Scott to create costumes for the Fall tour.

A global phenomenon and fashion icon online and off, Yelle recently concluded her world-wide festival tour on August 10th at Japan's Summersonic Festival.

Watch "Ce Jeu" video:

Yelle's videos have been viewed millions of times on YouTube and the clip for "A Cause Des Garcons" (TEPR remix) has been viewed nearly 11 million times alone. Yelle's most recent video for "Ce Jeu" made its premiere in August on the world's most famous celebrity blog website, Perez Hilton.
