Ralfe Band announce new single Attics / Stumble + watch video

Ralfe Band

“Ralfe Band are one of my favourite groups right now – their records take you on a weird and wonderful journey to their own little wonderland” – Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2

“Ralfe Band are a brilliant new band who play psychopathic folk-waltz music…epic and peculiar and catchy as hell” – Julian Barratt, The Mighty Boosh

Mighty Boosh collaborator Oly Ralfe unveils his debut single for Loose Music – a double A-side featuring the gothic polka-stomp of instrumental “Attics” and the lurching sideways swing of “Stumble”.

Watch Attics video:

Already firm favourites with Radcliffe & Maconie on BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music’s Marc Riley (the band has appeared live on both shows in recent weeks) each track perfectly encapsulates the surreal world of Ralfe Band and blend seamlessly into that very English take on pyschedelia so
perfectly captured by the likes of Syd Barret and Kevin Ayers.

Oly Ralfe doesn’t just content himself with the music; he is the artist behind the band’s artwork and videos and the director behind the award-winning film The Ballad of AJ Weberman – a feature documentary about the New York odd-ball and infamous stalker of the mighty Bob Dylan. The film premiered at Slamdance Film Festival 2007 and won the Raindance Award at the British Independent Film Awards.

In addition to all this Oly is an occasional contributor of songs and cameos to the Mighty Boosh radio and TV shows and has contributed several poems and drawings to their new book.
