Apples release “Reason 45″ single + tour dates

Apples are the newest and brightest 5 piece which will be bobbing onto the scene in 2009. Thanks to their debut single “Reason 45″, they are most certainly destined to make the biggest of splashes. Apples just love to rock out with tunes so golden and delicious even your granny smith will be hard pressed not to love them.
Apples herald from what they describe as the fruity capital of British Isles, Hereford. And in this fruity city, they’ve produced music that is pure pop pleasure: perfect for boyfriends and girlfriends who want a soundtrack to a montage compilation of their relationship. Their songs are written with this sense of unity, which mirrors the family element contained within the band: a kind of west side story style dance off with The Vampire Weekend.
Comprising of JP, Luke, Pedro, Glenn and Greg; Apples paint an image of English sunny countryside, 99p flakes, sing-along tunes, nostalgia of by-gone times, when pop was fresh and new. Although the band were probably too young to at the time, their music reflects the golden era of early 80’s popular culture, reminiscent of pop acts such as Haircut 100, Madness and Andy Partridge, but also the vocal harmonies of 60’s bands such as the Beach Boys and The Monkees.
Their first single, “Reason 45″ cleverly combines clean guitars with lighter-than-air synths and backing vocals to create a platform for an addictive melody forged by hugely optimistic lyrics. The single is set for release 18th May 2009. You can catch the band live at the following dates.
