If I say David Bowie, you might think "Life On Mars", "Ziggy Played Guitar", "Heroes" or even "Space Oddity". Yes, there are many faces to Mr. Bowie, his music stretches back to the mid sixties and still continues to surprise us today.
I've been a David Bowie fan since way back in the big collar and platform shoe days of the 1970's. I was probably 10 years old when I bought "The Laughing Gnome" single. Novelty record yes, but it did get me interested in what else this bloke could do.
Fast forward to go backwards. It wasn't until 1979 that I became familiar with my favorite David Bowie songs. I was at a party 'round a friend's house when I heard "Love You Till Tuesday". "Who's this?" I asked naively. "David Bowie" came the reply, as if I was a bit stupid to ask such a question. This song was one of his earliest from an album containing many other gems such as "She's Got medals", "The London Boys", "Uncle Arthur" and many more, every one a classic.
So if you are only familiar with Mr Bowie's famous songs, then give some of these old tunes a go and see what you think.
Here's one for an example of what a great talent this man is.
