Munich @ 229 Venue London, W1 - April 9, 2010 + video

Munich (formerly Maura Kincaid) are a Brighton based rock band made up of five childhood friends who joined forces to create a band with a big heart and an even bigger sound.

Munich

Munich have been hard at work in the studio working on new material which they will be showcasing at the 229 Venue on 9th April, 2010 which will also be attended on the night by some very important people. As the boys prepare themselves to play the show, they ask for YOU to come to the show and to bring along as many friends as possible!

In 2009 under the name of Maura Kincaid the band became one of the finalists of the 'Q the Music' Magazine Emerging Talent Competition and led them to play the Queens Head stage at Glastonbury that year. Since then they have been hard at work writing and recording new demos including their first music video for "Into the Rain" which was recorded live at the Concorde 2 Brighton.

Watch Into The Rain video:

Their sound can only be described as anthemic stadium guitar based rock with a lot of heart, mixing loud sawing guitars, flowing piano with heavy precise drums, credible baselines topped off with a strong but poignant vocal from lead singer Slade and the occasional synth thrown in to fuse it all together. With songs such as "Into the Rain" and "Right Place Right Time" it's only a matter of time before these guys start headlining their own shows.

Q Magazine said they were "reminiscent of The Verve at their best" and their epic live performances are renowned for being BIG, brash and memorable and will leave you shouting 'encore' many times over.

The boys who have been around for more than three years have made a big name for themselves around the fashionable Brighton music scene playing venues such as Digital and the Concord 2 alongside the likes of Codeine Velvet Club and Chapel Club and have more recently played the London scene in places such as Barfly and the Nottinghill Arts Club to name a few.

The Boys are determined to be here for the long haul and are prepared to work for their audience and be one of the biggest bands around.

Quotes:

"Masters of the slow build with huge swathes of strings reminiscent of The Verve at their best with added chiming guitars and a hint of James at their best. This Brighton five piece have some evocative fist clenching tunes and a giant voice in the shape of simply dubbed singer Slade" - Q Magazine

"Maura Kincaid are one of Brighton's most mysterious bands who have up until now, kept themselves under wraps, only playing the odd festival and small venue. But new demos and photo shoots have surfaced, hopefully meaning that the epic and well- honed quintet will come out of their lair" - The Fly (2009)
