Paolo Nutini wins prestigious award for the album 'Sunny Side Up'
Paolo Nutini collected the Best Album Award at the 55th Ivor Novello Awards last week at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London for 'Sunny Side Up'.

Presenting the award to Paolo at the lunchtime ceremony was Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon who talked about Paolo's current record 'Sunny Side Up' saying "you know a great record when it captures your attention for the duration of the record without wanting to skip through songs - and this record certainly gets your attention brilliantly!"
From the stage, clutching his award, Paolo said "this is special".
The Ivor Novello Awards are judged by songwriters and musicians and is the pinnacle of the music award season in the UK as it really does focus on the craft of songwriting. For Paolo to be honoured in the best album category is an amazing achievement.
Afterwards, Paolo said, "it's an honour to get an award voted for by songwriters. Happy days and thanks for the support".
Previous winners of the Best Album Award have been The Ting Tings (2009), Radiohead (2008) Arctic Monkeys (2007) and The Kaiser Chiefs (2006).
This is great news as Paolo embarks on his tour around Europe.
