Katrina explains, "It's great to be able to help and support Samaritans which provide 24/7 confidential emotional support to people in distress."

Katrina and The Waves recorded "Love Shine A Light" in 1996 in support of fundraising for Samaritans.

Rachel Kirby-Rider, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Samaritans says, "It is fantastic that Katrina has chosen to support Samaritans again. Funds raised from the Pledge Music project will help us continue to offer the 24/7 support to anyone experiencing emotional distress, including suicidal feelings."

Bring Change 2 Mind supports people with diagnosable mental illness and was launched by actress Glenn Close.

Katrina says, "When I first heard of this charity it resonated with me as when I was celebrating the success of a very happy song, 'Walking On Sunshine,' I was dealing with the pain of the suicide of my sister, Holly as a result of her long struggle with mental illness."

Executive Director, Nancy Evans stated, "BringChange2Mind is pleased to be working with Katrina and Pledge Music. Our connection with Katrina is based on the mutual desire to reach out to people in their most vulnerable states and encourage them to seek help without the fear of stigma. Mental illness deserves the compassion and understanding of any other illness. With Katrina's help and support through Pledge Music, we can continue our efforts in erasing the stigma of mental illness and help create an atmosphere of hope for thousands of people around the world."

Katrina concludes, "So it's really important to me that charities like Samaritans and BC2M are able to reach out to the people who need them. I'm really looking forward to working with Pledge Music, Samaritans and BC2M in 2010 - I think it will be a fun way of interacting with my fans - especially helping me to fund my tour that will take me into intimate gigs into the living rooms of my fans that pledge and help give to these life changing charities!"

Each pledge will help both tour costs and Katrina's charity efforts.

Using Pledge Music, the artist will be posting pictures, videos, rare recordings, and updates on the road while encouraging the fans to meet her in person when she comes through their town.

Every pledger will receive a digital copy of the forthcoming live LP and have the opportunity for all kinds of VIP experiences.

Benji Rogers, the Founder & CEO of Pledge Music, stated, "We are both delighted and excited to be a part of the way in which Katrina has chosen to bring this new music to her fans. Her passion for both her music and her chosen charities is evident and fits so perfectly with the D2F (Direct To Fan) release model that Pledge Music offers. This is a testament to her integrity as an artist who is making music for all the right reasons."

With this new platform for fan interaction, Katrina's fans can experience the adventures of touring from start to finish and feel like they are really right there with Katrina while she experiences touring the world!
