On October 30th in Washington DC soul/gospel legend Mavis Staples performed at Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear.

Mavis Staples performed the title track from her unanimously praised new album 'You Are Not Alone' (Anti-) as a duo with album producer Jeff Tweedy.

Mavis also closed out the rally by leading many of it's participants - from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the guys from 'MythBusters,' to Sheryl Crow and Tony Bennett - in a stirring rendition of the Staple Singers classic "I'll Take You There" that had everyone on the National Mall singing in unison.
