One of the most influential bands of the last 40 years, Squeeze are playing an exclusive gig for Fred Perry Subculture competition winners to celebrate the end of their US and UK 'Spot The Difference' tour.

Taking place at London's fabled 100 Club on December 14, 2010, the gig will be a great chance for the band and their fans to finish the year in this intimate venue that is threatened with closure.

There will also be rare DJ sets from Terry Hall and Mark Lamarr. Tickets are only available to Fred Perry Subculture competition winners and are extremely limited.

Additionally, Squeeze and Subculture have banded together for a new daily blog that the band and crew are contributing to every day while on their current UK tour. Posting diary entries, photos and a daily video from Simon Hanson straight to users' desktops, the content is free to download and available through the Saturday Morning Music Club website - the same technology behind Chris Difford's recent solo album. The blog is another innovative way to deepen the traditional relationship between band and brand, with Squeeze commenting that the level of access now available to fans is "a little too up close and personal, the closest thing to being there!"

Formed in South London in 1973, and armed with Glenn Tilbrook's winning melodies and Chris Difford's pithy lyrics, songs such as "Cool For Cats", "Pulling Mussels (From The Shell)" and the classic "Up The Junction" established Squeeze as one of the UK's finest pop acts. Yet they have also been one of its greatest exports, their bittersweet tales of London life and love proving universal enough to strike a chord in the USA.

Having previously featured the likes of Jools Holland, Paul Carrack and Stephen Large in their ranks, the current line-up consists of Difford, Tilbrook, drummer Simon Hanson and Squeeze vets John Bentley on bass and Steve Nieve on keys.

With their latest 2xCD release 'Spot The Difference', Squeeze demonstrate they still possess the verve and vigour that made them such an exciting prospect right from the start.

Released on their own Love Records, on disc one they have reclaimed and re-recorded 14 of their best loved tracks - "ownership is king when you are an artist", as Difford notes - while second disc 'Live At The Fillmore' captures a thrilling set from their summer US tour at one of the most famous venues in the States.

Still an influence to this day on the likes of Mark Ronson, The Feeling and Lily Allen - who stated "Squeeze are pretty much my favourite band of all time" - in 2010 alone Squeeze have been honoured with the PPL / Radio Academy Lifetime Achievement Award and seen the site of their first ever gig awarded a PRS for Music Heritage Plaque. The Ivor Novello winning partnership of Tilbrook and Difford have also begun considering writing the first new Squeeze material for over 10 years.

Fred Perry launched their Subculture nights in 2005 with an exclusive Paul Weller gig at the 100 Club.

Previous Fred Perry shows have featured the likes of The Specials, Marc Almond and Mark Ronson.

Fred Perry commented: "Squeeze have had a huge influence on British music and British music songwriters. Many of our previous Subculture guests cite Squeeze as a major influence on their work. There is a massive anticipation for the gig - with currently the fastest ticket competition sign up that Fred Perry has seen. We are absolutely delighted to have Squeeze perform for Fred Perry fans at the 100 Club."
