Murray James

Soul singer songwriter plays Bush Hall and The Borderline in the New Year

Murray James will be appearing at Bush Hall on January 28, 2011 at a New To Q show as well as a HMV Next Big Thing gig on February 11th at the Borderline, the latter as special guest to Claire Maguire.

Set to stand alongside tips for 2011 such as The Vaccines and Claire Maguire, Murray was signed to Deconstruction by Mike Pickering. The 21 year old singer-songwriter is from Milford On Sea and draws on faultless classic soul influences. He writes his own songs and sings in his own inimitable style, boasting a gravely, careworn voice which belies his tender years.

Nominated for the Q Magazine Next Big Thing Award, Murray has already supported the likes of Candi Staton and is working on his debut album between the UK and the States with production from Dan Grech Marguerat (Scissor Sisters, The Vaccines).

"The lad looks like Little Lord Fauntleroy but sings like Stevie Wonder. A superstar" - Gordon Smart (The Sun)
