Setting the scene is album opener "Rock By Numbers" which is anything but; it's robo-driven, ornate-yet-muscular metal with enough personality and sense of fun to transcend the more po-faced side of post/math rock. The pace doesn't let up on the frenetic "Last Match Of The Acolytes" - a roller coaster of quiet/loud, with reflective cello rising and falling around a massive rhythmic framework.

There's undoubtedly a huge amount of influences and understanding beyond the standard rock/pop cannon within this album, so descriptions aren't straightforward. But needless to say, something along the lines of neo-classical-baroque-noise-funk gives you a small indication of the exotic pleasures contained within!

Brilliantly unusual, "The Goddamn Remote" sounds like medieval folk or children's music turned cyborg and force fed neon paint. However, due to a rigorous process of arrangement and editing, the album never feels unpalatable or heavily oppressive - a perfect equilibrium of power and fragility, motion and melody is achieved throughout.

Within a year of their first gig, The Rock Of Travolta had played in front of 45,000 people whilst supporting Radiohead at their immense South Park gig, having been invited personally by Yorke and Co. TROT have played four UK headline tours, recorded a John Peel session and released two EPs plus an album - all of which were met with critical acclaim. Following all this and a significant line up change, the band took on a new approach to writing and entered a self-imposed exile, taking time to ensure that the new record did justice to their vision. 'Fine Lines' establishes a new era for The Rock Of Travolta.

The Rock Of Travolta are: Jennie Bates (cello, keyboard, bass), Jon Carter (bass), Joe Durow (drums), Matt Spooner (guitar, keyboards, bass) and Dave Warrington (guitar).

The Rock Of Travolta will be shaking the following venues to their core.
