Cutting edge London music promoters The Playground announce their first Weekender event to take place on the 25th and 26th March 2011 at Electrowerkz featuring the debut London performance of oOoOO plus Brainfeeder acts Teebs & Jeremiah Jae and Kitsune acts Yelle, In Flagranti, Punx Soundcheck & Waylayers

After a year of successful shows in 2010 selling out venues including Koko, Scala and 93 Feet East with performances from Gary Numan (live and DJ sets), SebastiAn, Breakbot, Kavinsky, Reverend Soundsystem, Kap Bambino, Losers and more, London-based music promoters The Playground take on a new project to highlight some of their favourite cutting edge of alternative electronica and dance music across two days to take place at central London venue Electrowerkz.

The company has teamed up with Supersuper Magazine for these events with the first night (25th March) presenting some of the finest darkwave, experimental hip hop, leftfield and new subgenre witch house/drag featuring the debut London performance from a leading pioneer of the latter genre, San Francisco's critically acclaimed oOoOO.

Also on the bill for that night are two acts from Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label Chicago's Jeremiah Jae and LA's Teebs with support from Dimlite, Becoming Real, Breton, D/R/U/G/S and Anxst.

The 2nd night (26th March) sees a more upbeat electro and dance line up featuring an intimate performance from French cool-pop darling Yelle who recently supported Katy Perry on various European tour dates.

This will be a rare opportunity to catch her upclose before embarking on a US tour and arena dates across Europe which follows.

The line up is completed by Kitsuné acts In Flagranti, Punx Soundcheck and Waylayers plus Delooze (featuring members of Florence & The Machine, The Bays and Remy Zero), Tiger Love, The Coolness and Douce Angoisse.

Commenting on the new event, company director Warren Morris says:

"We're extremely excited to once again present some of the most interesting and edgy music coming out. From watching underground acts like oOoOO, Dimlite and labels such as Brainfeeder put out fresh music which references electronica, hip hop, experimental and gothic genres and then seeing media outlets including The Guardian, Supersuper, FACT and Pitchfork embracing them really reinforces The Playground's mission. Alongside our continued support for electro and dance it only made sense that we put on an event that presents both the darker and upbeat styles we love in a central London location."

Doors open at 9pm on each night. Tickets are on sale now for both nights via Ticketground.co.uk.
