Tickets on sale for Wood Festival 20th - 22nd May, 2011

Wood Festival, Braziers Park, Oxfordshire

A celebration of music and nature in the beautiful surroundings of Braziers Park, Oxfordshire

New bands announced!

Powered 100% by renewable energy

Awarded: Best Festival at The Oldie Travel Awards & The Gold Greener Festival Award
(also: shortlisted for Best Toilets at the Festival Awards and working to Industry Green standard)

With around a third of tickets already sold, Wood Festival is fast turning into the must-go-to festival; it's the perfect start to the summer. With the event selling out in advance last year, families across the country are clamouring for tickets.

It's time to announce the next set of bands, so joining WILLY MASON and ELIZA CARTHY on our solar-powered, grass-roofed wooden stage will be:

Local girl done better-than-good - THEA GILMORE and her band. Not for no reason does Bruce Springsteen buy her records, do artistes ranging from Martha Wainwright to Mike Scott seek to collaborate with her. And she is from just down the road in North Aston, Oxfordshire.

Considering MAMA ROSIN live communally in a 200-year-old farmhouse, growing their own produce, making music and listening to old vinyl they should feel right at home at Braziers Park, and at Wood festival.

Celtic folk trio, and winners of the 2002 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award UISCEDWR are one of the finest traditional groups active today, full stop, and we've long wanted them to play at Wood.

Husband and wife TREVOR MOSS AND HANNAH LOU, just signed to Heavenly Records and darlings of the nu-folk scene, are a fixture of the event (and sold the most CDs in the merch tent last year).

Joining them at this intimate event will be:

DREAMING SPIRES / TREETOP FLYERS / SUPER KHOUMEISSA / JALI FILY CISSOKHO / THE EPSTEIN / KATY ROSE & THE CAVALRY PARADE / THE MINIKINS / GOODNIGHT LENIN / POLLY & THE BILLETS DOUX / HOLTON'S OPULENT OOG / GEORGE BOROWSKI / OWEN THOMAS / BAND OF HOPE

For 2011's event, the fourth annual Wood festival, organisers Robin and Joe Bennett (the brothers behind the world-famous TRUCK festival) are limiting tickets to just 800 people to preserve the intimate community feel. It's why they created the event, as a place to take their own young families, to have fun and relax whilst listening to great music, and perhaps even to learn something from one of the many free workshops and talks.

Wood is one of Britain's greenest events, powered completely on renewable energy, harnessing the power of the sun, the wind and even the people who attend the event (through a cycle-powered cinema and disco), there are composting toilets (no portaloos!) and a stage made of, you guessed it, wood.

Wood Festival is also about learning, with opportunities for everyone to participate in workshops covering singing, woodcraft, yoga, knitting, story-telling, and thatching amongst many other subjects; there are campfire sing-alongs, the now famous fancy dress parade, and a fantastic kids tent. You can even join in our lively lunchtime discussions and talks on living a more sustainable lifestyle the other 363 days of the year… more information on the full list of activities to follow soon.

Wood has its own organic café serving delicious locally-sourced food and its own pub, THE HIPPY ARMS selling locally-produced lager, ale and cider.
