Denmark's The Blue Van announce new UK release date for Love Shot

After postponing the original UK release date of The Blue Van's new album Love Shot - to fit in with their European summer tour schedule - Iceberg Records announce a new release date of September 5th 2011.

Love Shot is the fourth studio album by Denmark natives The Blue Van. Its release on September 5th 2011 will mark five years of progress from their debut studio session which produced the EP - A Session with The Blue Van - that was the catalyst for their Danish success, and follows close at the heels of their most successful year to date in which the band truly broke free of their domestic borders and invaded the global arena.

The album has been created as a co-production between the band and producers Mark Wills and Dan Hougesen but in truth the sound of The Blue Van comes from some inherent luck and good taste in their formative years.

Raised on an aural diet of 60's rock and blues bands like The Kinks and Howling Wolf, The Blue Van came together at the tender age of 12 to re-create covers of their idols material, which at the time, included acts like The Small Faces, Cream and The Pretty Things.

Rehearsing in the garage of a deaf Grandmother certainly gave them some space to grow and learn, evolving into a group who've developed their own sound, which, in keeping with their roots is now marked with the tones of a Hammond Organ - an instrument first discovered by their bassist on a local small holding in their rural home town of Broenderslev, complete with such signs of love and attention as chicken feathers in its belly and lavish amounts of rust– Rhythm and Blues swing, powerful rock riffs and an almost verbatim influence of 60's and 70's classic rock laced with subtle electronic flourishes of modernity.

Through their career the band have toured the states with Jet, The Pretenders, Hot Hot Heat, and Electric Six, garnered support from key US media including Nic Harcourt from KCRW, and been associated with some of the most successful shows on American Television.

Their most notable association showcased the launch of one of the biggest technological breakthroughs of the 21st century - The iPad - who's commercial was first shown at the 2010 Grammy's then beamed around the world to the sound of previous album title track "Man Up".
