"Norwegian Devil Dolls" according to Rolling Stone, the Cocktail Slippers are heading to the U.S. for two special back-to-back performances in Philadelphia and New York City.
The all female garage pop band owns the stage in their signature retro get ups on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Philly's Kung Fu Necktie, and the following night at NYC's Delancey on Saturday, September 24.
The two showcases are in support of their highly anticipated album due out in 2012.
Cocktail Slippers just finished touring Scandinavia earlier this year with the popular front woman Palmyra Delran of New York City's trashy pop band The Friggs. Palmyra toured overseas in support of her solo act, but garnered the Swedish band Stupidfy to backline her unique stage performance. Delran who began her career opening for the Selecter, the Ramones, the Fleshtones, Cheap Trick, and among others, started The Friggs in the 90s, but continues to peruse her solo act.
The Friggs will join the Cocktail Slippers for the upcoming Philly performance, along with local rock band Explosive Head and DJ Swingin' Lord Tombeat. Show time is 6:30 p.m. All three acts will light up the stage with their explosive, in-your-face stage presence and leave fans craving more.
And there is more! The next night the Cocktail Slippers and Palmyra Delran will grace NYC's Delancey, including performances by Daddy Long Legs, Lenny Kaye and DJ Jumpy spinning between sets. Show time is 8 p.m.
Delran will unveil new songs from her upcoming CD, You Are What You Absorb, which is slated to release in early 2012.
To conclude the evening stay for Delancy's after party featuring FUZZANOVA DJs, who will be spinning the best Latin American Garage, Beat, Go Go, Funk, Surf, Chicha and Boogaloo from the 60s and 70s.
