New charity music Festival aims to raise over £100,000 for Help for Heroes & SSAFA Forces Help - Early Bird Tickets on Sale 2 days only at The Howe Country Centre

"The Big Stooshie, Scotland's Charity Music Festival" is taking place at The Howe Country Centre, Giffordtown (near Ladybank), Fife on 4th, 5th & 6th May 2012 and will feature live performances from up to 50 live acts including The Damned, from The Jam, The Boomtown Rats and many more.

The event will take place on two stages in a very unique indoor venue!

The Big Stooshie is believed to be the only charity music festival of this size in Scotland and maybe one of the largest single fund raising events to take place next year.

The organisers are confident that the three day event will sell out, which would raise over £100,000 for the nominated charities Help for Heroes and SSAFA Forces Help.

With the ticket launch planned for October, interest in the event is already gaining momentum on social networking sites. The organisers are convinced tickets will sell out very quickly, in line with other similar sized Scottish music festivals. Therefore for two days only tickets will be available to purchase directly from The Howe Country Centre, Giffordtown between 10am and 7pm on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October 2011 at a special "early bird" discounted price. This special discount means that a 3 day weekend ticket is just £72 (normal price £90)! There are limited camping places available at the discounted rate of £96 (normal price £120). Any tickets purchased from The Howe Country Centre will not have any additional booking fees applied. From Monday 24th October, early bird tickets will be available from outlets throughout Scotland as well as on line at ticketcandy.com, however these outlets may charge a booking fee which will not factor into the amount raised for charity.

Capacity crowds are expected to attend and enjoy performances from top live bands such as, The Damned, The Boomtown Rats, from The Jam, The Beat, The Complete Stone Roses, Kazabian and Tommy Reilly. In addition to some of the UK’s best known performers, The Big Stooshie will also feature some of the most popular modern artists such as The Dykeenies, Pearl and The Puppets, Dead Sea Souls, Tango In The Attic, Proud Mary and Healthy Minds Collapse as well as popular local stars; Root System, The Catch 22's, State Of Emergency, Patrol and many more. With nearly 30 acts confirmed already, the organisers believe that they have attracted one of the strongest line-ups of any "small" Scottish festival, with many more top names still to be announced before May next year.

Key to the success of the event is the very unique venue at The Howe Country Centre, which offers a festival atmosphere but is completely undercover! With a capacity of over 4000 people at "The Arena Stage" and 1000 at the second "Tent Stage" music lovers can enjoy a festival atmosphere but with out the mud and rain which so often festival-goers have to endure due to the unpredictable Scottish weather!

One of the most enthusiastic supporters of the Big Stooshie is Major (Retd) Tim Grantham, Help for Heroes' County Coordinator for Fife, Angus & Clackmannanshire. After a recent site visit to the Howe Country Centre, Major Grantham was very impressed with the venue and enthusiastic about The Big Stooshie Festival:

"All I can say is WOW! - a simply superb location and venue for this three day event, it certainly ticks all the boxes! I am delighted to be working closely with The Big Stooshie team and I have a feeling this could potentially be the largest music fund raising event for Help for Heroes in Scotland next year!"

The Big Stooshie, is an adult event, however over 14's are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All attendees should bring photo ID with them as this will be a licensed event with two bar areas on site.
