NPR Music's 'All Songs Considered' Listeners Pick Bon Iver 'Best Album of 2011'
Bon Iver's self-titled sophomore album has earned top billing from NPR Music fans, in this year's annual "Listener Picks for Best Album of 2011."
Tens of thousands of All Songs Considered listeners voted to determine the results of the year-end list, which is dominated by perennial indie rock favorites: Fleet Foxes take the number two spot, with Adele, the Decemberists, and Radiohead rounding out the Top 5 choices.
On All Songs Considered this week, host Bob Boilen counts down the audiences' list, and also offers his thoughts on how the picks stack up.
NPR Music's "Year In Music: 2011" launched with the "50 Favorite Albums of 2011" and will continue to present picks from critics, public radio tastemakers and NPR Member stations until the end of the year.
Other 2011-in-review features include a streaming mix of "NPR Music's 100 Favorite Songs of 2011" and a soon-to-be-released free, downloadable 11-song compilation of "NPR Music's Favorite New Artists Of 2011."
