Boston-based rock quartet Mean Creek are pleased to announce the premiere of their new single, "Come On, Before It's Gone." Premiering over at MTV Hive now, the song is the band's personal and cathartic message about seizing the moment and living for today.

"It's a song about grabbing hold of people and moments as they are here and as they are happening so that you don't end up with regrets, and so that love, life, and opportunities don't pass you by," frontman Chris Keene said. "The pop music we love is all about living in the now, so for these three minutes you can feel fully alive. That's what we try to do with our music - make people feel alive. Whether it's a sad song or a happy song, feeling anything, good or bad, is what life is all about." Check out the premiere of "Come On, Before It's Gone" over at MTV Hive (link below).

Mean Creek also recently announced their Fall tour of the U.S. supporting Counting Crows.

Marking the band's second stint with Counting Crows this year, the tour began after the 2012 CMJ Music Marathon and is continuing now, hitting the AVA Amphitheatre in Tuscon, AZ, Friday, November 16, and culminating in an appearance at City National Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim, CA, on Sunday, November 25.

Released on Tuesday, October 16 through Brooklyn-based Old Flame Records, Youth Companion, an album that was recorded at 1867 Recording Studio by Chris McLaughlin, producer of Mean Creek's acclaimed debut album, The Sky (Or The Underground), follows the band's Hemophilac EP, a four-song offering produced by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., The Hold Steady, etc.) that was named "Album/EP of the Year" at last year's Boston Music Awards. Named "Best Boston Band" by the readers of The Boston Phoenix for the second straight year in a row, the members Mean Creek - Chris Keene (lead vocals/guitar), Aurore Ounjian (guitar/vocals), Erik Wormwood (bass), and Mikey Holland (drums) - have their sights set on impacting the nation as they have in their hometown with the release of Youth Companion, the band's most focused and biggest-sounding work to date. Additionally, the band has been nominated for three more Boston Music Awards for 2012 ("Artist of the Year," "Album of the Year" and "Video of the Year").

"Youth Companion is indeed the perfect soundtrack to your nostalgic youth, covering almost every facet of growing up and discovering who you are. It starts with naiveté, longing and learning, but ends with the same heartache and bitterness many of us experience at some point towards the end of our innocence." - CMJ

"Perhaps the most anticipated Boston record this fall, Youth Companion delivers on the passionate heart-on-sleeve promise the quartet offer each night on stage." - The Boston Phoenix
