JAKE BUGG SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM SET FOR APRIL 9th RELEASE ON MERCURY RECORDS - FOLLOWED BY APRIL 10th LETTERMAN APPEARANCE, APRIL 12TH ELLEN APPEARANCE, AND APRIL 22ND ON LENO!

18-YEAR OLD UK TROUBADOUR SET FOR SXSW IN MARCH - COACHELLA IN APRIL - AND SUPPORT DATES WITH BAND OF HORSES

Jake Bugg, the 18-year old British singer-songwriter's self-titled debut album has been set for April 9, 2013 release in the U.S. on Mercury Records.

On April 10th, the day after the album release, Jake will perform on CBS's The Late Show with David Letterman, and is also set to perform on NBC's Ellen April 12th, as well as NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 22nd.

Jake recently returned to the U.S. for sold-out shows at New York's intimate Living Room and cavernous Bowery Ballroom; and in Los Angeles at the prestigious Troubadour. The L.A. trip also marked Jake's American television debut, on TBS's Conan, performing "Two Fingers," his current U.S. and Top 30 UK single. "Two Fingers" is one of the highlights of the JAKE BUGG album, first released October 2012 in the UK.

"Two Fingers" impacted Triple-A and Alternative radio formats, after being A-listed at Radio 1 in the UK (where Jake has had a phenomenal five ‘Record Of The Week’ picks to date). "Two Fingers" is the lynchpin for Jake's debut American EP, available at all digital retailers, comprising four songs from the album: 1. Two Fingers * 2. Trouble Town * 3. Slide * 4. Country Song.

Jake's return to the U.S. in the spring will include this year's SXSW (South By Southwest) Music Conference in March, and opening for Seattle's Band of Horses on-tour in April. Jake is also confirmed for the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April, details to be announced in the weeks ahead. In addition, Jake will take part in KCRW's signature daily music program "Morning Becomes Eclectic" on February 20th.

"Just when you're ready to bury rock 'n' roll," raved HITS magazine Daily Double columnist Roy Trakin after the Troubadour show, "along comes an 18-year-old kid like this from Nottingham, England, who straps on a guitar and starts channeling Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash with a little Peter Noone and Merseybeat thrown in for good measure." Comparisons followed to rock royalty's Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Gordon Lightfoot, as Trakin concluded: "I won't go evoking Elton John's legendary performance at this very venue, or Jon Landau's spiel about seeing the future of rock 'n' roll, but this young Brit delivered a set that made even the alter cockers in the audience feel the torch has been placed in good hands."

Jake, who counts Noel Gallagher, Lily Allen, Elton John, Chris Martin, and Snow Patrol amongst his ardent fans, played his first major North American tour last October-November 2012. The tour encompassed 14 cities in the U.S. and Canada with fellow Mercury artist Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Island Records group Snow Patrol. Jake closed out 2012 on UK compere Jools Holland's annual New Year's Eve "Hootenanny" special, performing "Lightning Bolt" (opening track of the JAKE BUGG album).

Praised as "the real deal" by NME, Jake caught the UK music scene's attention after slaying audiences as the opening act at two of 2011's hottest gigs: The Stone Roses’ secret London show at the miniscule Village Underground, and a week later, Noel Gallagher's smallest ever solo performance at Dingwalls. NME's live review hailed Jake's "unwavering confidence (bordering on nonchalance, in fact) with which he faces tonight's sold-out and hugely expectant crowd… Bugg is a special kind of talent."

"His debut album is 14 songs … that belie his eighteen years. Sharp, observant and honest, they inhabit a world no other new UK act is currently operating in.." (MUSIC-NEWS)
