With her youth and her pop-flavored upbringing (Her father is Oscar-winning Disney composer Alan Menken) she should be singing disposable, auto-tuned sugar pop. Behold A Pale Horse is full of 70s-inspired rock and roll tunes that run from straight ahead blues rockers to haunting piano ballads. Her versatility has never been clearer, and Behold A Pale Horse recalls everything from Little Feat to Tori Amos. Produced by Kevin Salem (Rachel Yamagata, Lenka), it follows Rose’s 2010 debut Nomad.
