This is about Tim Young and TYB or Tim Young Band. Tim Young is a singer and songwriter for TYB but he is also a solo artist and writer of poetry, stories, blogs and is just about to put the finishing touches on his first novel. The novel was always something Tim wanted to write but it wasn't until he discovered Chris Baty and his book NO PLOT? NO PROBLEM! A LOW STRESS, HIGH-VELOCITY GUIDE TO WRITING A NOVEL IN 30 DAYS that the novel actually began to exist. Truth be told Tim did not finish the novel in 30 days but damn near. A few more chapters and the work will be complete. Aside from the MySpace website and also timrocks web.com one can also catch tunes from Tim's debut solo release, RED, on Mike Stephens podcast which is known as the Open Mike; located at mikestephens.com The next major musical project is TYB heading to Dearborn, Michigan to record the follow up to RED. The new CD will be called THE COST and will feature Sand Edwards on drums and backing vocals. The album will be produced by Mark Meisel of Dearborn. Mark has been signed to Sony Records and has produced many diverse solo acts and bands. He has the knack to know just how far to go with producing a tune and adding all the right ingredients. THE COST should be coming out by early summer 2007. Tim's original sound comes from the sixties and seventies Rock and Folk Rock era. Beginning with the Beatles and the British Invasion and drifting to the Beach Boys and Chuck Berry with the soul (Oh My God) of Aretha Franklin and the lyrical ideas of Bob Dylan with the Country twang of Hank Williams and Gram Parsons...well, you get the idea. Frankly, the best way to hear Tim, solo, or with his band is in a live performance. Here the energy just jumps right off the stage and the songs are not likely to soon be forgotton. But however you can experience this music; you will be spending time well worth your while.
