Brooklyn-based band Pearl and the Beard have established themselves as a rambunctious presence in the NYC scene, with a rapidly growing and highly dedicated audience.
They're now set to conquer new territories with the national release of their debut album 'God Bless Your Weary Soul, Amanda Richardson', including first single "Oh, Death!", a live appearance on WNYC's prestigious Soundcheck, a cheeky new video for their Will Smith Cover Medley and an AOL Spinner New Releases feature.
About The Album
Pearl and the Beard's debut full length 'God Bless Your Weary Soul, Amanda Richardson' is the follow up to two self-produced and self-released EP's. After a local limited edition release earlier this year, there is now a national release through Family Records/The Orchard with new artwork and a bonus cut.
The album features appearances by Kelly Pratt (Beirut, Arcade Fire, Team B), Franz Nicolay (The Hold Steady), was engineered by Dan Brennan (Uncle Monsterface), and produced by Wesley Verhoeve.
The Will Smith Cover Medley Video
This recent concert staple and crowd favorite mashes 8 Will Smith songs together in Pearl and the Beard's signature melodic folk pop ways, with an added dash of jolly winks not typically found in their original material. It was turned into a beautiful and quirky music video created by Brooklyn-based collective Goddamn Cobras, most recently in the news for their Phoenix/Brat Pack Listzomania video. A warm day in Williamsburg, 6 different locations, 5 hours of shooting, and lots of happy passers-by.

About The Band
Originally a trio, Pearl and the Beard have expanded to include a full string section, drums and, occasionally even a choir, supporting it's three principle songwriters and vocalists Jocelyn Arlington (glockenspiel), Emily Hope Price (cello) and Jeremy Styles (guitar). Having co-headlined New York's Bowery Ballroom, Joe's Pub, and Gramercy in the last year the band has built up a rabid and enthusiastic audience in the NYC area that has now helped them reach out far beyond the city for their first extensive tour. Fans were involved in booking, street teaming and promoting the tour, and corralling their friends all across the east coast to pitch in. The result is a beautiful tour with established venues, even in cities where the band has never before appeared.
