Preceding this show comes a series of sold out US dates following a performance alongside Muse at SXSW's high profile Myspace/Spin party.
Pushing the boundaries of convention, Metric have teamed up with Spotify, to release tickets with a 25% discount to UK fans as well as the full album 'Fantasies' for only 99p in a limited time offer. Tickets are available from: http://ilovemetric.com/spotify.html
As a live band Metric have gained a fierce reputation as a highly-charged four-piece, pumping with energy. Their live show also captures the band's softer and more melodic moments, showcasing their genre busting sound.
Emily Haines is the band's focal point, one of the most forthright, articulate and compelling performers and vocalists around. She plays the synthesizer and guitar with supreme and accomplished musicians James Shaw (Guitar), Josh Winstead (Bass) and Joules Scott-Key (Drums) completing the line-up.
'Fantasies', named MySpace's Triumph of the Year, was self-released on 4 continents in mid-2009 with no label support, is already platinum in Canada and is racing towards 'Gold' status in Australia.
With "Help I'm Alive" (Fantasies 1st Single), Metric became the first band in history to have their first ever Top 20 hit at US commercial radio without the support of a label, a feat they repeated with second single "Gold Guns Girls".
With combined album and ticket sales recently surpassing the mark of one million units, it's time for Metric to take on the UK and replicate this success, once more doing it off their own bat and on their own terms.

I have to say I have totally fallen in love with "Help I'm Alive". The dynamics in the songs - how it starts out kind of haunting and moves to this awesome upbeat song - are amazing.
They stopped by here in Vancouver a while ago and played an amazing acoustic version of "Gimme Sympathy". Should definitely check it out sometime!
