Leicestershire four-piece Kyte will release the single "Designed For Damage" on 26 July, 2010 through KIDS Records; the label that launched The Wombats, The Whip and Band of Horses.
The single is the second to be taken from their debut album Dead Waves, and the follow up to "ihnfsa", which attracted strong support at radio from Huw Stephens, Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq and Eddy Temple Morris.

"Designed For Damage" is an epic, cinematic statement of intent, showcasing Kyte's ever-atmospheric, dreamy soundscapes together with powerhouse drumming leading the listener towards the most euphoric song finale of the year, reminiscent of classic U2 and Doves.
Vocalist Nick Moon provides a contrast to the musical uplift; singing of a twisted love story, culminating in an horrific crime occurring between the two protagonists.
The track is backed with 3 brand new non-album tracks in one EP set, and a second EP featuring remixes from the ever-cool Pacific!, Singaporean Trance DJ Effen and the band's Cassette Culture side project.
Dead Waves, from which "Designed For Damage" is taken, is Kyte's debut long-player, and has attracted an avalanche of praise from sources including NME, The Fly, Uncut and The Guardian.
The band recently played to a packed audience at The Camden Crawl and have toured with the likes of The Whip, School of Seven Bells, Maps, Silversun Pickups, iLiKETRAiNS and Iceland's Ólafur Arnalds.
In the US, their track "Boundaries" was used on a nationally-aired advert for HBO's The Sopranos.
The band can also boast of quite remarkable success in Japan, following the release of their Japan-only album Science For The Living. This saw them chart at number 5, and debut one place higher than U2. This summer will see this particular Kyte fly even higher.
