It's been well over a year since US audiences had a chance to witness the infectious energy of an Arctic Monkeys live show but music fans can delight in today's news that the English 4-piece have announced plans to play a string of coast-to-coast shows this spring.

Kicking off in Washington, DC on May 17, 2011 and wrapping up at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on June 3rd, the tour includes a return to New York City's renowned Summer Stage in Central Park on May 24th. Presale and ticket information is available at ArcticMonkeys.com.

Arctic Monkeys - Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O'Malley and Matt Helders - haven't performed in North America since criss-crossing the country in the wake of the release of Humbug, their acclaimed third album.

Fans can expect to hear some eagerly awaited new material - the band posted a video preview of brand new song "Brick By Brick" on their website late last week.
