Laura Marling Announces North American Solo Tour December 2011
The fall saw 21-year old English troubadour Laura Marling playing a sold out North American tour backed by a full band followed by a momentous UK cathedral tour.
As the year draws to a close, Marling will return stateside to play a series of intimate solo dates and joins the line-up of some of the seasons' most exciting holiday parties.
Kicking things off in the Midwest, she will offer support at the 3rd Annual Daytrotter Holiday Party to M. Ward. The following evening she will play the historic Chicago Theatre for the WXRT Holiday Party.
Her third album A Creature I Don't Know was released on Ribbon Music in the fall and has garnered the most enthusiastic reviews of her career. It is a boldly accomplished and endlessly impressive album. 10 original compositions of intricate and captivating story-telling, buoyed by Marling's rich voice, evocative lyrics and the precise, confident instrumentation on every track.

"Marling is a formidable songwriter who is only getting better; and the acuity of her observations is matched by the precision of her performance... Marling makes you feel as though, in line with the songs' narratives, you are completely alone." - The Guardian
"…Marling's smoky voice reverberated across the pews and soared upward toward the dome of the sanctuary…It was a show that worked on all emotional levels, full of rage and gorgeous, tear-jerking music, but also a refreshing sense of lightness…she expertly left the crowd begging for more." - NPR
"Live, her hauntingly still stage presence enraptures...She continues to be both inspired and inspiring." - Time Out London
