Given the fact that CeCe Teneal recently received a heartwarming shout-out from President Barack Obama himself after her spine-tingling performance at the Democratic Election Campaign Fundraiser, it might be hard to imagine, but this newly anointed queen of neo-blues comes from decidedly humble beginnings.

Indeed, at the tender age of six Cece was belting out spirituals from behind the pews of her church in Osteen, FL. And even then, as her voice resonated through the church and out into the dusty streets of her country town, it was clear that the young lady had not only a special set of pipes, but an instinct for the music and sound that would carry her into the future.

In October, Cece Teneal released her debut full-length, Train from Osteen, which has quickly captured the hearts and souls of listeners and critics alike, and marks not only the culmination of much hard work come to fruition, but the majestic new beginning of Cece's reign.

In 2007, on the strength of her voice and a performance at the show she curated in Orlando, Florida, "Sunday Night Live," Cece was hired as the lead singer of the B.B. King All-Star Band.

Now, with Train from Osteen, this neo-blues maven has drawn on the influences of her childhood to redefine the sound of the blues - and everyone is taking notice.

Brink Magazine said, "Cece has one of those distinct voices that could only be described as the love child of Sharon Jones and John Legend - a kind of raspy melodic tone that blends beautiful with big horns and leaves out pro tools."

Meanwhile, Cece has also found herself featured in Reverb Nation and interviewed on the Daily Buzz. In a recent feature by The Vinyl District's TVD First Date, Cece was quoted as saying, "Grandma was a blues head. All day, she'd listen to the likes of B.B. King, Johnnie Taylor, and Aretha Franklin…those giants I still listen to today."

Dubbed "The Voice of Neo-Blues," she's been awarded the Orlando Hip Hop Award for Best Female Singer (2009, 2010) and opened for major recording artists including Regina Belle, Miki Howard, Donnell Jones, Tamia Dwele, and B.B. King.

In addition, she's shared the stage with Grammy Award Winner and legend Buddy Guy. Not to mention her brilliant covers of songs by everyone from Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, and Lauren Hill.
