Professor Penguin have announced the release of their debut album 'Planes' on April 9th 2012 along with a launch show at The Social, London.
The creation of Jonny Abraham, Professor Penguin are now an exciting collective of nine talented musicians who are already enjoying success on the live circuit, starting 2012 with a sold-out residency at London's Ronnie Scott's.
Professor Penguin's first two singles "Pilot" and "Pirate" have already seen the band win support from The Fly, Q Magazine's "Track Of The Day", BBC Radio 1 (Rob Da Bank and Nick Grimshaw), BBC 6Music (Lauren Laverne, Radcliffe & Maconie, Steve Lamacq, Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson), BBC London (Gary Crowley) and XFM where "Pilot" was playlisted as the "Xposure Big One".
The band have even picked up Brian Eno as a fan, who described their debut single "Pilot" as "a beautiful piece" and took the track in to air on BBC 6Music during an appearance on Radcliffe & Maconie's show.
Professor Penguin's debut long-player 'Planes' is only likely to win them even more fans, with majestic beauty, heartfelt vocals and glorious harmonies throughout.
The 9-piece are currently gearing up for a full XFM live session and an exclusive festival performance at Secret Garden Party this summer, before returning to the studio to work on their next record.
