Parisian electro-pop trio Chateau Marmont has released a new video and single for "Wargames" off its forthcoming debut LP, The Maze.
"Wargames" is a tense song about the impossible love of two beings, forced into separation.
Directed by Sam Rixon, the black and white video matches the single's hurried pace, splicing together live footage of performances from various tours and the beautiful places in between. The clip also captures footage from Chateau Marmont's North American tour last fall with Revolver, which followed their spring US live debut and well-received sets at SXSW '11.
Chateau Marmont - "Wargames" video:
Chateau Marmont grew up together exploring both adolescence and musical influences that seeded their futuristic synth-pop. The band first gained attention for their remixes of La Roux, HeartsRevolution, Ladyhawke and Röyksopp and then released last year's 2008-2009-2010, a collection of songs comprised of the group's three previous EPs. Chateau Marmont's work has been praised by MTV Iggy, Discobelle, BlackBook among others, and their track "Nibiru" was included in one of Wired Magazine's Spring Playlists.
"A Parisian electropop dream team [that] gives us plenty to smile about" - MTV
"If there was any doubt in your mind that motorik space-disco was alive and well, Parisian quartet Chateau Marmont will certainly assuage such notions." - XLR8R
