Fresh from a wildly successful series of dates in the UK, founding members of The Jam, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, join fellow musicians Dave Moore and Russell Hastings in "From The Jam", for a 13-city US tour in the New Year starting January 24th, 2008 in San Diego (dates below). These will be the first live shows in the US since the original Jam disbanded.
Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler pick up right where they left off, blazing through perennial favorites "That's Entertainment," "This Is The Modern World," and many others while Hastings' uncannily Weller-like vocals make this the closest thing to a Jam reunion as the world is likely to see. Buckler recently told LiveDaily,
"We did make it known that, in the early stages, that the door was open to [Paul Weller] anytime and still is, if he wanted to come along and have a bit of fun. But we didn't want to get tied up in the perception that if Paul wasn't involved then it couldn't happen...Our only concern was, how would the fans take to that sort of scenario? And we've found that they've been very happy with it. Most Jam fans have been waiting for this for a very long time."
Drawing inspiration from The Who and the Sex Pistols, The Jam fused a punk-rock sensibility with the classic mod sound and became one of the most influential acts to come out of the UK. During the band's five-year span, The Jam's moody lyrics connected with disenfranchised youth in songs like "Down in the Tube Station" and "In The City."

The power trio kicked off the late 70's mod revival and inspired a legion of British rock bands from The Smiths to Oasis. Current acts like the Kaiser Chiefs, The Futureheads and Supergrass show that their influence is more apparent than ever.
The tour is sponsored by Waterstone Guitars. Waterstone, known for "The Art of Performance and Quality," is holding a contest to celebrate From the Jam's first visit to North America in which fans can win a Waterstone "Mod Target" Carnaby electric guitar signed by the band. "It really was a return to 1977-78 - like being caught up in a swaying crowd at the City Ground...And when Foxton's bass boomed out the intro to In The City, the decades rolled back and we all started singing in a 'mockney' accent." - BBC News
