Neil Diamond Home Before Dark album + UK tour dates (+ Fenway Park)

Neil Diamond - Home Before Dark

Neil Diamond is back with his eagerly anticipated new studio LP 'Home Before Dark', set for UK release on May 12th, 2008 on SonyBMG. Collaborating once again with legendry producer Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, Tom Petty), 'Home Before Dark' is a vivid 12 track masterclass in compelling songwriting and the follow up to 2005's highly acclaimed '12 songs'.

'Home Before Dark' features twelve original songs written by Neil Diamond and was recorded in Los Angeles with guitarist Mike Campbell and keyboardist Benmont Tench (from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), along with bassist/acoustic guitarist Smokey Hormel and guitarist Matt Sweeney.

Highlights on the album are many, including the stunning lead single "Pretty Amazing Grace" and a striking duet with the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines on "Another Day (That Time Forgot)".

The album will also be available as a deluxe version that includes two bonus tracks and a DVD with rare footage of Diamond in the studio.

Neil's last album '12 Songs' went in at number five in the UK charts, and at number four in the US Billboard chart. It sold 200,000 in the UK and was Diamond's highest-charting debut to date. After four decades, one hundred and twenty-five million worldwide record sales, three dozen Top Forty hits, a Grammy and a Golden Globe, Neil Diamond is just getting started.

Playing songs from 'Home Before Dark' and tracks from his illustrious career, Neil Diamond will embark on a long awaited worldwide tour beginning May 24th, 2008 in Rotterdam before he plays nine dates in the UK in June.

One Response to Neil Diamond Home Before Dark album + UK tour dates (+ Fenway Park)

This is just my humble opinion!......Neil played a blinder of a concert last night in Manchester, and I have no complaints about the standard of music, etc. He is truly amazing keeping up such a high professional standard with material he has performed for over 30 years (some of it anyway), and he was as usual the consumate professional. This did not detract from the fact that he must also be the sexiest pensioner ever!
My only complaint is the whole marketing thing....like we paid £60 for each ticket, another £70 between two of us for travel to the venue, then his tour brochure is £15 (yes I appreciate the profits go to charities), then he has the audacity to ask well over 20 quid for a t-shirt (and the designs weren't really much different to previous tour shirts). Come on Neil (and Rae who probably makes these decisions for him), it's not like you need the money! Why charge such, in my opionin, extortionate prices for merchandise? I was one sad person who had to leave without a t-shirt as I just could not afford both a tour book AND a t-shirt....sob sob...
oh and the ultimate insult - signs all over the place informing us that NO photography was allowed at the request of Mr. Diamond. I appreciate he does not want professionals with zoom lenses getting better pics than his entourage, but what harm in us ordinary people getting a few long distance snaps of our hero?
