The Greek term 'Eutopia' means 'a perfect, safe and good place', which can be said of Eutopia's music and fans - good music and greater fans!
As a group, the band Eutopia are loyal to the skill and finesse of creating music and listing influences as diverse as hard-rock heavyweights Yngwie Malmsteen, Dream Theater and Queensryche whilst still respecting the style, technique and sound of Cat Stevens and the Beach Boys, the band recognise what it takes to make good music and have put it into their own terms with this offering.
The Band are truly dedicated to the art of writing, and their diverse and eclectic musical backgrounds shine through in their music. Luca Forlani has played in both Italy and the UK in a range of hard and prog-rock bands, he plays a 5 string bass, guitarist Alexander Kotziamanis is left handed yet somehow manages to skillfully tap out arpeggios playing a right-handed guitar and the number of pedals attributed to him is quite literally obscene! Finally, drummer Dave Thurlby, keeps the band in check whilst constantly searching for 'that' drum sound that will satisfy him, as well as the fans.
The styles present on the single show exactly what Eutopia are capable of. "Valentine" takes a delicious slice of Trent Reznor and NIN with brooding vocals and a guitar breakdown that Metallica would be proud of, whilst "I'm Not Alone", shows another side to the band with its folk-rock tinged sound that just screams out for lighters in the air.
Their live show doesn't disappoint either and they frequently perform across London in venues that don't do justice to their stadium-filling appeal!
