On June 18, 2010, Adrian Belew, King Crimson frontman / songwriter / guitarist for nearly three decades and award-winning pioneer of guitar synthesizers and sound textures, will bring his solo 'Painting with Guitar' tour to the U.S.

Recently featured at this year's Big Ears Festival alongside the National, Clogs, Joanna Newsom and Terry Riley, the tour will highlight new compositions, artwork ("the stage is decorated - littered? - with my paintings."), loop improvisations and "some of my most fiery guitar work," adds Adrian. "To personalize things, I'll take questions from the audience. People love to talk about gear, the creative process, musical associations...The results are part illumination, part hilarity."
Plucked from a Nashville bar in the 70s by Frank Zappa, Adrian has been enjoying a long, innovative career including his influential decades fronting King Crimson, beginning with the seminal rock record Discipline, working with the Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club and the Bears, musical director and bandleader for David Bowie, collaborating with Nine Inch Nails (The Downward Spiral, Ghosts I-IV), recording on Paul Simon's Graceland, contributing to Laurie Anderson, Tori Amos and releasing over 20 solo albums since 1982's Lone Rhino.

Ever inspired by new technology, Adrian as been "writing material that would have been impossible to create only last year," and will return to the studio this fall to record music from the 'Painting with Guitar' tour.
