Lazertag is a San Francisco based duo that crafts their music with simple tools; a guitar, synthesizers, drum machines, video games, heart and a quiet sense of humor that gets you through the rough spots.
This sentimental approach flourishes in their sophomore release, 'A Minor Loss Of Fidelity'.
In the spirit of their first album, 'Modern Cuts for the Modern Man', Lazertag continues to bridge the gap between vintage sentiment and space-age wonder.
'A Minor Loss Of Fidelity' is modern day thinking-man's music. It immediately sparks a sense of subtle nostalgia and maintains a sort of futuristic optimism coupled with classic romanticism. The songs are honest, measured, and beautiful.

This new record is versatile and a testament to Lazertag's range. "Buildings of a Former Century" features gainy electric guitar backed by folky drums and ghostly Rhodes. In contrast, "It Gets Better Now" features a palette of electronic synths mixed with analog drum machines and layers of pensive vocals. Alternatively "Bring Us Back To Life" features robotic arpaggiations and youthful melodies.
Lazertag's diversity is the result of having a long shared musical history. Mitch and Ryan have been playing music together since their high school days in Petaluma, California. Later both went on to attend San Francisco State University where each began to develop their individual musical identities (Ryan became a Music Composition Major while Mitch took a DIY route).
Lazertag officially began to take shape when Mitch began writing and recording songs on a simple field recorder during work hours at the campus Bike Barn.
Finally in 2004, Mitch and Ryan reconnected and formalized their songs into Lazertag; a band whose name is as simple and nostalgic as the band itself.
