Third Man Records to release Jack White produced Laura Marling single on November 9th 2010

Laura Marling

20-year old English folk star Laura Marling is the latest artist to take part in Third Man Records' Blue Series of releases.

The series of limited edition 7-inch records, produced by Jack White and recorded at his own Third Man Studios in Nashville, has featured releases from Wanda Jackson, The Black Belles and Secret Sisters, amongst others.

For her Blue Series recording Laura Marling chose two incredible songs and does them heavenly justice: Jackson C Frank's "Blues Run The Game" and Neil Young's "The Needle And The Damage Done". Marling recorded the tracks - in one perfect take – earlier this year.

Laura Marling was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize for both of her albums Alas, I Cannot Swim (2008) and I Speak Because I Can (2010).

Third Man's Blue Series are available for mail order and from their Nashville store at 623 7th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203. A very limited tri-color batch of 100 will be made available exclusively through the Rough Trade East record shop in London on Saturday November 13, 2010.
